Straight from the source, and custom made just for us here at the Crystal Lion, these enchanting Iolite Hexagon Jewels will leave you speechless! The "water sapphire" as it is sometimes called derives its name from the Greek "ios" meaning violet. And indeed, the color of Iolite is one of the most enchanting features of this stone. Iolite displays a property called "pleochroism" that changes the color depending on the light it is viewed in; mostly appearing deep indigo/violet, but appearing yellowish gray in certain lights.
Metaphysically, Iolite is a stone to illuminate the path, give direction, and steer the course. In fact, Iolite was the first polarizing filter, used by the Vikings to navigate their voyages, and to this day, is a wonderful stone to bring a traveler safely home. If you feel disoriented, Iolite will bring you back. If you feel out of balance, Iolite provides self-assurance and returns you to your own center (emotionally, spiritually, as well as physically). Iolite is the stone of dusk, and of the liminal space, helping the keeper navigate toward a grounded center, finding order in a chaotic situation.
Iolite is a supreme stone for supporting and strengthening relationships, particularly between family members who find themselves in discord. Along with Spirit Quartz, this is a stone I like to use for establishing harmonious communication between tenuous familial relationships. Iolite is probably best known for being a wonderful Third-eye Chakra stone, assisting in awakening psychic gifs, and enhancing them, particularly the sense of clairvoyance (clear sight). It is believed to stimulate your body's response to psychic awareness, not just the mind or intuition. Iolite is a phenomenally creative stone, particularly for singers and other creative people who use their voice to share their art.

Within these cells, they store food, raise their young, and care for the queen.
