Stunning Solid Lepidolite GANESH Ganesha // #2 One of a Kind Deity Carving “The Remover of Obstacles”
Ganesh is a Hindu deity, known by many names, and is considered the Lord of Obstacles. He is a deity of Good Fortune, the Remover of Obstacles, and a symbol of prosperity, wealth, possibility, and good luck. A patron of the arts and sciences, a deity of wisdom and intellect, he is perhaps one of the most well-known gods in the Hindu pantheon. Ganesh doesn’t just remove obstacles for you - he’s also known to place obstacles in the way of those who wish ill, harm, or to behave against the greatest good of all. There are so many fascinating tales of Ganesh’s life, deeds, and experience - he’s full of whimsy, but is incredibly powerful, and one of the most beloved and commonly prayed to gods of the Hindu deities.
Q: Can non-Hindus work with Ganesh?
A: Yes! Hinduism is not a closed religion, and in fact, it is encouraged to work with Hindu gods and goddesses. Hindus also respect deities and figures from other pantheons, so in Indian homes, you may even see statues of Jesus or other figures alongside Hindu gods/goddesses.
Q: How is this not cultural appropriation?
A: In addition to the answer above, cultural appropriate focuses largely on who benefits monetarily from products of a culture. We commission, source and work with ONLY Hindu carvers, so the money from Ganesh sales goes directly to the artisans and their families in India.
CARE FOR YOUR DEITY
Give your deity a designated, sacred space, a beautiful altar that s/he is safe from small hands or pets, and yet is in a common space where they may be prayed to or spoken to daily. Treat your deity as a statue as a mini living god or goddess in your home, offering flowers, herbs, other crystals, and little bowls of food to as gestures of gratitude - and they will treat you well in return, bringing you luck, love, and wealth! As your deity is carved of natural (never dyed, heated, or treated) crystal that has been created with love, smudge or smoke-cleanse regularly with palo santo, sage, or another dried herb.

All stones and crystals in our shop have been cleansed with our natural mountain spring water (except for those that may dissolve in water, such as selenite) and have been smudged with organic white sage, harvested sustainably and produced fairly.
Please note that crystals, minerals and fossils are a natural product and are rarely perfect. I do my best to capture each side of each piece in the photos. They are creations of Mother Nature that have weathered the elements and more for untold number of years, and I cannot guarantee perfection or perfect points. These are natural objects. All photographs are taken outside, in natural sunlight, and the photos are NEVER altered.
