Bloodstone is one of the most purifying and healing stones to work with; a powerful metaphysical tool that has been used throughout human history. It cleanses the area where it inhabits, and it has been used for thousands of years as a stone for strength and energy. The "origin" story for bloodstone is really powerful: it is said that green jasper lay at the feet of Jesus when he was on the cross; his blood dripped down to the stone below and created bloodstone. Bloodstone is actually a form of chalcedony, and is also known as heliotrope.
Some people use bloodstone as an aid for disorders of the blood or similar physical ailments, such as detoxifying the liver and kidneys. Metaphysically, bloodstone is purifying, detoxifying in an energetic sense, and brings love into any situation. It removes energy blockages and encourages a smooth and continual flow of positive energy. Bloodstone helps reduce harsh tempers, irritability and aggression. It's grounding and protective, and encourages selflessness and acts of charity. This listing is for ONE (1) tumbled Bloodstone faceted jewel. Each one is perfectly polished into an asymmetrical octagon with beveled edges. We love this unusual take on tumbled stones, and they fit beautifully in pockets, purses, bras, or medicine bags to carry with you on your travels.

All stones and crystals in our shop have been cleansed with our natural mountain spring water (except for those that may dissolve in water, such as selenite) and have been smudged with organic white sage, harvested sustainably and produced fairly.
Please note that crystals, minerals and fossils are a natural product and are rarely perfect. I do my best to capture each side of each piece in the photos. Please remember that all monitors and screens pick up colors differently. My photos are ALWAYS taken in natural sunlight and are NEVER enhanced. Each one is unique and one of a kind. They are creations of Mother Nature that have weathered thousands of years in the earth. :)
